A Case Report of Gilles de as Tourette Syndrome

Abstract
|
|
|
The author reports a case of Gilles de la Tourette syndrome observed in a 2& years old single male. The main symptoms were general multiple tics including vocal tic, coprolalia, echolalia and muscle group tics which had begun about 8, years of age.
The author could not find its origin in genetic and organic factors but in psychogenic. Conflict between effort to carry out and to repress an urge originated from hostile aggression and rage toward the authority figure was important one to understand this syndrome. The patient expressed the conflict in erotic, masochistic and self-punished way.
Supportive psychotherapy was effective to treat the illness, also the manifesting symptoms were alleviated by Haloperidol and Thioridazine.
